RESUMO
Este artigo é parte de dissertação de mestrado em Ciências do Envelhecimento. Relata pesquisa de campo, exploratória, de corte transversal, qualitativa, com análise do discurso em base fenomenológica realizada com dez idosas de São Paulo. Foi possível verificar que as lembranças infantis alimentares estão presentes no cotidiano das idosas e interferem nas escolhas atuais; as recordações podem ser agradáveis ou não, e os eventos alimentares e religiosos apresentam-se interligados. As limitações da pesquisa não permitem generalizações, mas contribuem com o aumento de informações, especialmente as qualitativas, referentes a interferências no processo de envelhecimento, dentre as quais destaca-se a questão afetiva das memórias para dificultar a manutenção de dietas.(AU)

The findings reveal that memories of food on childhood are present in the daily lives of the elderly and interfere with the current choices; the memories may be pleasant or not, and food and religious events are interconnected. The limitations of the study do not allow generalizations, but can contribute to the increase of information, especially qualitative, concerning interferences in the aging process, among which there is the issue of emotional memories to hinder the maintenance of diets.(AU)
