OBJECTIVES: to analyze the social representations of rural women about being a woman in the rural context and its implications for sexual and reproductive health. METHODS: this is a descriptive qualitative study with data triangulation, based on the Theory of Social Representations, developed with 31 women who live in the rural context of Minas Gerais (MG/BR). An in-depth interview with a semi-structured script was conducted. A lexical analysis was performed with the help of the ALCESTE 2012 software. RESULTS: the family relationship, especially the couple's, demonstrated subjectivities and was permeated by violence and normalized sexual practice. The imagery dimension of the ideal family seems to be responsible for exerting domination over rural women. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: rural women are subject to the norms and prescriptions of a patriarchal society. It is urgent to increase attention to sexual and reproductive health in an egalitarian and liberating way in order to minimize the consequences of machismo and conservatism.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To understand, using Martin Heidegger's phenomenological framework, the Being who experiences a heart disease and develops a pressure injury. METHOD: Qualitative, phenomenological study using Martin Heidegger's theoretical-philosophical-methodological framework. Nine participants were interviewed at their residences, from October to December 2015, Ceará. RESULTS: Six meaning units were revealed: experiencing difficulties; dealing with the treatment of pressure wounds; not knowing the cardiac disease; being supported by family and friends; experiencing changes caused by disease; and maintaining faith in God. These Daily life was apprehended in an inauthentic life, chatter, curiosity, and ambivalence. Imprisoned to the vigor of having been, they live in anguish, supported by the faith in God and being-with-others in a movement of attentiveness. CONCLUSION: The phenomenon interferes with patients and families' daily lives rendering them vulnerable. There is a need for nursing to reflect on this experience and incorporate care that reaches human existence.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To understand the experience of reproductive planning and pregnancy for HIV serodiscordant couples. METHOD: Qualitative study, with phenomenological approach, theoretical-philosophical-methodological framework of Martin Heidegger. The field stage took place in a reference service in the care for people living with HIV, in southern Brazil. From an intentional sample, a phenomenological interview was conducted with 11 couples between August 2013 and April 2014. The analysis was hermeneutic. RESULTS: It was possible to understand, from the meaning units that: couples accept and overcome the serological discordance together; experiencing pregnancy is difficult; there is an effort to have a normal life; the diagnosis is silenced by prejudice and stigma; comes the couple's relief after the child's negative diagnosis. CONCLUSION: It is necessary to recognize the couple as a unit of care with a view to a non-fragmented care in the field of sexual and reproductive health.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To understand the experience of reproductive planning of female military firefighter health professionals. METHOD: Phenomenological research under the theoretical-philosophical and methodological framework of Martin Heidegger. Developed in Fire Department units in Rio de Janeiro in the first half of 2016, with 21 female military health professionals. RESULTS: Women expressed that it is necessary to work and manage roles. Therefore, they have to plan to have a child, due to the difficulty of managing all the tasks and reconciling motherhood with work. They think of a more comfortable situation to dedicate themselves to their children, since they are the main responsiblefor them. CONCLUSIONS: Comprehensive health actions for military women need to be included in public policies, as it is a group that has been increasingly participating in an environment previously restricted to men and with their characteristics.

OBJECTIVE: To unveil the existential movement of being a woman survivor of breast cancer. METHOD: Qualitative, phenomenological, with Heideggerian analytics from 15 interviews, between October2020 and January2021 in a teaching hospital in Minas Gerais. The construction of seven Meaning Units was followed by comprehensive methodical moments. RESULTS: The being-there-woman-survivor-of-breast-cancer showed itself in the ways of being of everyday life, occupied in manuality of tasks inside and outside the home, moved by impersonality and impropriety. The fear of death, gossip, curiosity and ambiguity were revealed that led to decadence, experienced in the world of treatment and follow-up, enabling being-with. The anguish that announced itself fleetingly was followed by the decadence that most of the time the presence remains. CONCLUSION: The need to structure a specialized and interdisciplinary line of care is reinforced, in which care centered on active and qualified listening encompasses multidimensionality, envisioning women in aspects that permeate cancer survival.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVES: to analyze the possibilities of support that the social support network offers to women in situations of intimate partner violence. METHODS: qualitative research anchored in Sanicola's social network framework. A total of 21 women attended at a specialized social assistance service in Porto Velho-Rondônia, Brazil, participated in a semi-structured interview. RESULTS: the analysis of network maps showed that the secondary social support network mobilized had a central character in the lives of women in situations of violence. These women sought the third sector's secondary network, the churches, from which they received emotional-affective and spiritual support. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: understanding the social network setting and the type of support offered can contribute to improving care for women and strengthening interpersonal and institutional ties that help in the search for breaking the situation of violence.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVES: to unveil the meanings of mothers whose children died as a result of domestic accidents in childhood. METHODS: a qualitative research, in the light of Heideggerian phenomenology, with ten mothers whose children died from domestic accidents. It was carried out in a municipality of the Northeast Region of Brazil through phenomenological interviews between May and June 2017. The existential analytic was constituted by the comprehensive moments of the Heideggerian method. RESULTS: the meanings unveiled pointed out that, to understand the sudden death of her child, the mother oscillates between feeling guilty, pointing and denying guilt. She reports emptiness, permanent pain, non-acceptance of her child's death, and the desire to keep him in her life. In this journey, the fear that brings limitations to her life and that of her other children is revealed. Final Considerations: it was revealed that the death of the child in infancy compromises the integrality of being a mother, indicating the need for systematic and continuous care for the adequate management of the emotional and social effects.
