RESUMO
Since the first description of parapsoriasis more than 100 years ago, parapsoriasis has been a questionable condition and occasionally considered a precursor of cutaneous lymphoma. The name "parapsoriasis" is related to a heterogenous group of diseases that show a distinct clinical presentation; however, the histopathological criteria are not strongly specific. Pathologists do not consider parapsoriasis as a possible histopathological diagnosis, but dermatologists use the term as clinical hypothesis. We aim to provide an historical review of parapsoriasis focusing on histopathological criteria, considering its possible relation with cutaneous skin lymphoma, based on articles from PubMed and standard dermatopathological books. Parapsoriasis does not have well-defined histopathological criteria, so its use should be avoided. Being aware of parapsoriasis complexity, a consensus meeting can help to create a guideline regarding this topic.

Multiple minute digitate hyperkeratosis is a rare, non-follicular dermatosis, with fewer than 30 cases described worldwide. It can be either acquired or inherited in an autosomal dominant pattern. We describe the case of an 83-year old patient with life-long, multiple, digitate, milimetric lesions, and a positive family history for the same dermatosis.

Whether parapsoriasis represents an early stage of T-cell cutaneous lymphoma is still the subject of controversy. We evaluated the efficacy of phototherapy in the treatment of parapsoriasis and its relation with TCCL. Patients diagnosed with parapsoriasis and treated with phototherapy PUVA or UVB-NB were selected. Between 1 to 8 years following treatment the evolution of their disease was evaluated. In 62 patients the cure rate was 79.3% and 17.2% showed improvement of the lesions. Only two patients developed full blown T-cell cutaneous lymphoma. Phototherapy is an excellent treatment for parapsoriasis, with high cure rates, regardless of the type of phototherapy employed. Of the 62 patients under study, parapsoriasis showed no general tendency to progress to T-cell cutaneous lymphoma.

In order to determine the predictive value of a rash during dengue fever, a cohort study was conducted in children hospitalized for dengue during an epidemic in French Guiana. A rash was predictive of uncomplicated dengue: the HR of developing a severe form of disease was 0.43 (95% CI 0.21-0.88; p-value=0.021) for patients with rash.

The progressive symmetrical erythrokeratodermia (EQSP) is a rare genodermatosis manifested by symmetric erythematous and keratotic plaques, polycyclic, located mainly on the limbs. We report a case of a 16 years old boy, controlled from birth, with a large percentage of skin surface affected.
