RESUMO
Gomez-López-Hernández syndrome (GLHS) is characterized by rhombencephalosynapsis (RES), alopecia, trigeminal anesthesia and a distinctive phenotype, including brachyturricephaly. It has been suggested that GLHS should be considered as part of the spectrum of RES-associated conditions that include alopecia, trigeminal anesthesia, and craniofacial anomalies, rather than a distinct entity. To the best of our knowledge, 57 patients with GLHS have been described. Despite its first description in 1979, the etiology of this syndrome remains unknown. Here, we describe, to our knowledge, the first case of a patient with GLHS who was molecularly evaluated and had been prenatally exposed to misoprostol. We also reviewed the clinical and morphological features of the patients described to date to better delineate the phenotype and focus on any evidence for adverse pregnancy outcomes or exposure, including teratogens.

PHACE syndrome is a neurocutaneous entity, derived from an acronym that describes the constellation of alterations associated with some segmental hemangiomas in the cephaliccervical region: Posterior fossa malformations, hemangiomas, arterial anomalies, aorta coarctation, cardiac defects, and eye abnormalities. When midline anomalies are found (Sternal defects) the term PHACES syndrome is used. Its etiology is unknown, and is more frequent in females. It requires a thorough study of associated malformation, because is an important source or morbimortality. We present our experience with two cases, with excelent response to treatment with propranolol, along with a review of the literature.

We present 23 patients with PHACE syndrome showing similarities in our population with data that already exist while highlighting neurodevelopmental occurrences arising in a subset of these patients.

Patients with large congenital melanocytic nevus (LCMN) have a high risk of developing malignant melanoma (MM) and other malignancies. We report a case of a mesenchymal malignancy that best fit the diagnosis of a malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor and subsequent development of a MM developing from a LCMN. There are no previous reports of a second primary malignant neoplasm arising from a LCMN.

Neurocutaneous melanosis is a rare, congenital, non-inherited syndrome characterized by numerous and/or large congenital nevi with intracranial leptomeningeal melanocytosis. This report describes two patients, presenting with a giant congenital nevus involving a major portion of the posterior trunk with satellite congenital nevi scattered all over the body, who developed seizures at 4 and 6 months of age, respectively. Changes in follow-up magnetic resonance (MR) examinations over an 8-year period were seen in case 1, while parenchymal melanocytic accumulation was reported in the region of the amygdala in case 2. These cases emphasize that neurocutaneous melanosis should be suspected in patients with giant congenital nevus with or without neurological symptoms. Also, neuroaxial MR screening should be performed in all cases and, ideally, before myelination of the brain to provide the highest sensitivity for detecting melanin deposits in the leptomeninges.
